Wet Dreams
An ongoing project mixing photography and art. Instant photography, also known as Polaroids, is one of the most polluting forms of photography, leaving a considerable carbon footprint. When Polaroids aren’t “successful”, when nothing comes up on the shot, the picture is over or under exposed, we can’t delete it. It’s a physical piece of chemistry.
During the long, lost hours of confinement and quarantine, I started organizing my thousands of Polaroids, and found myself with hundreds of unusable shots. Conscious of the impact my passion and work have on the planet, I tried to find alternatives to these failed shots. Through trial and error, with inks, coffee, water, and a lot of patience, “Wet Dreams” came to life. Each shot is unique, a world of its own, and a story for each to interpret.
